Job opening – Gardener

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Colombo has a vacancy for a Gardener starting as soon as possible.

Description

As part of the maintenance team of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, your task will be gardening work and supporting the technical team with renovations and maintenance of the compound and the pool.

The working hours consist of 37,5 hours weekly. The first year of employment will be on basis of a fixed-term contract which can become permanent in case of excellent performance.

Qualifications/Ideal Candidate’s Profile

• Good knowledge of English
• Work experience / vocational training as a gardener
• Vocational training or practical experience in a technical profession
• Open and friendly attitude
• Willingness to work on Saturdays occasionally
• Ability to work as accessible and constructive member of an international team
• Social as well as intercultural competence
• Sri Lankan citizen or valid work permit for Sri Lanka
• Willingness to participate in after-work language or technical trainings

The contractual conditions and remuneration are based on the model employment contract for local employees and the remuneration scheme of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Colombo.
