The Beauty Of The Galle Tourist Area

A green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) was seen on the beach in Galle, Sri Lanka, on November 11, 2023. Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It's known for Galle Fort, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Stone sea walls, expanded by the Dutch, encircle car-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort's southeast tip. (Photo by Thilina Kaluthotage/NurPhoto), © NurPhoto

Join Our Art Competition: Breaking Boundaries for a Better Planet!

On October 3rd every year, we celebrate Germany’s National Day commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall and the power of unity. This year, we're inviting secondary school students to express their creativity and commitment to our planet in our special Art Competition!

In 1989, the Berlin Wall which devided East and West Germany, was torn down in a peaceful revolution. For the German people, it symbolizes the overcoming of boundaries, the spirit of unity and power of joining hands for a better society.

Today, as a global society, we face new challenges that demand collective action—the consequences of climate change. How can we overcome together the walls that threaten our planet? What is holding us back from transitioning into a greener future?

School students in the age group of 14-18 years are welcome to participate in the competition and showcase their talent! The idea is that arts have the power to advance our critical thinking and inspire us to creative solutions “out of the box”.
